Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the Tapanbai Mukushbhai Patel Memorial Hospital and Research Centre on April 25, 2026, in Shirpur, Dhule district.
Developed by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), the 1,200-bed multi-speciality hospital is designed to deliver advanced healthcare services comparable to those available in major metropolitan cities such as Mumbai and Delhi. The facility is strategically located to serve patients from North Maharashtra as well as neighbouring regions of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, including underserved tribal populations in districts like Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, and Nashik.
A key highlight of the hospital is its “equal treatment for all” approach, which includes cashless healthcare access for economically weaker sections. The facility is expected to reduce the burden on urban hospitals by making specialised treatment available closer to home.
Fadnavis also highlighted broader development efforts in the region, including planned investments of around ₹40,000 crore aimed at promoting industrial growth and generating employment in Dhule and Nandurbar.
In addition to healthcare, Shirpur is being developed through an integrated approach focusing on education, infrastructure, and skill development, positioning the region as an emerging industrial hub.
